Accessibility and Transparency

Your Body is a Temple. Worship Yourself.

Physical Accessibility

SPACE and STAIRS: Sabai Body Temple is located up a flight of stairs on the second floor of our building. We request shoes be removed in the studio.

BATHROOMS: We have 2 gender-neutral bathrooms.

LIGHTS: We keep the studio dimly lit but can raise lights upon request.

SCENTS: We regularly use incense and essential oils in the studio. Unscented oil is available for bodywork. With prior communication we can reduce incense use in a treatment room before client arrival but it will be used in the rest of the studio.

SOUNDS: Each treatment room has music and a noise machine with water sounds playing. Volume of these components can be adjusted upon request.

BODYWORK APPROACH: Depending on the reservation we recommend (but NEVER REQUIRE) some level of undress to avoid getting oil products on clothes, or for exfoliation services to avoid getting water on clothes. Undress is completely up to client comfort level. Please communicate with your therapist before your session or during your intake interview if you have specific preferences/challenges.

ALLERGIES: Sabai Body Temple is not a nut-free studio. Coconut oil, almond oil, and sesame oil are all present onsite and, no matter how well we clean, they may be present in the treatment rooms or have traces on surfaces. We run air purifiers in all rooms to reduce dust/allergen/virus content throughout the space. Our staff also bring their own snacks to work which may have common allergen content. PLEASE BE PROACTIVE and tell us if you have an allergy so that we can plan accordingly and keep you safe.

DRINK TRAYS: We offer water or tea before and after each session. Some teas have a mix of herbal ingredients. If you have allergies to common (or uncommon) tea ingredients please let us know! Or go with water to be safe.

COMMUNICATION OPTIONS: Scheduling and rescheduling communication can happen via email (hellosabaibodytemple@gmail.com) or phone (612-872-8354). Online booking is available for initial scheduling; rescheduling and cancellations must be handled via phone or email. Onsite, team members can communicate verbally or via writing and may establish basic signs/signals with any hearing-impaired client prior to a session.

LANGUAGE BARRIERS: English is the common language of our team though we currently have individuals on our team who speak Spanish, Hungarian, or German. If you have a language interpreter of any kind, they are welcome to be in the treatment room with you if you prefer.

Temple Hint: We are proud of our reputation for quality of bodywork and we aim to maintain a safe and supportive space for bodywork and bodywork education. If our space is not accessible to you, please reach out to hellosabaibodytemple@gmail.com so that our team can access your situation and determine the best way to serve you. We can offer some recommendations and referrals.

Financial Accessibility

We understand that finances affect client frequency of attendance. Spring 2024 we will introduce the

 Tune-Up 40  Coming Soon...

This 40-minute session is designed to sit at the intersection of Quality and Affordability. The Tune-Up 40 must be booked by a team member for eligible clients. We want to be a more affordable option for clients recovering from injury, frequent body stress, or with a specific wellness goal that benefits from frequent bodywork.  After a brief but intentional consultation with your therapist, you are treated on a massage table fully/mostly clothed in comfortable clothing. Some oils or balms may be applied to exposed skin like the neck, arms or feet to relax your mind and give you a break from the stresses of the day. Your therapist employs rocking, stretching, trigger point therapy, and energy work, among other techniques to ground your nervous system and reduce acute and chronic pain.

Temple Hint: This service is designed to support healing from acute injury or to maintain a steady bodywork pattern for recovery and improvement of a chronic issue. Please wear comfortable stretchy or loose-fitting clothing.
